Whether it be for a book cover, a logo, an icon or even a cartoon, illustration is a great way of creating striking images that speak for themselves. Many different mediums can be used when creating an illustration such as pastels, acrylic paints and even Illustrator. For my part, Illustrator is the best tool that I’ve found since illustrations can be easily manipulated in the future and modifying them is a breeze (as compared to retouching a pastel drawing 2 years down the line)!
